Ms Nishanthi Gurusinghe
BSc MBChB FRACS PGDipClinEd

Nishanthi was born in Sri Lanka and emigrated to NZ as an infant. She grew up in the Bay of Plenty, NZ where she attended the local primary and high schools. Nishanthi then completed a BSc in Psychology at the University of Auckland. Following this, she completed her medical degree at the University of Auckland, School of Medicine. She then embarked on surgical training and received her surgical qualification, FRACS, in 2009. Nishanthi completed sub-specialty training in Colorectal surgery during 2009 and 2010 in Auckland and Hamilton, NZ. During this time, she pursued her interest in teaching, gaining a diploma in Clinical Education and working towards a PhD.

Nishanthi is hardworking, sincere and enthusiastic. She genuinely cares about her patients and their families and enjoys working with people from all walks of life.
